MONIQUE MERCURE's impressive career has seen her working on major national stages and in movies for more than 40 years. She has at least a hundred great stage roles to her name. In addition, she has lent her talents to nearly 50 films and worked with the following renowned filmmakers: Jutra, Mankiewicz, Brassard, Lord, Beaudin, Chabrol, Simoneau, Cronenberg, Girard and Smith. During her career she has won prestigious awards including the Cannes Festival's Prix d'interprétation féminine for her role in J. A. Martin, photographe. During the last few years, MONIQUE MERCURE has been seen on stage in Tristan et Yseult and in Montreal's Théâtre National's Les manuscrits du deluge. Her recent television work includes Providence and Le retour, and, on the big screen, La Brunante (F. Dansereau), Saints-Martyrs-des-Damnés (R. Aubert) and Nouvelle-France (J. Beaudin). MONIQUE MERCURE was the National Theatre School's executive and artistic director from 1981 to 2000.
