An author, stage director, actor, teacher, screenwriter, journalist, reporter and a storyteller, JEAN-CLAUDE GERMAIN has greatly contributed to the growth of Quebec culture. In 1969, he founded the Théâtre du Même Nom and set it up at the Centre du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui ; in 1972, he became its director. He has to his credit sixteen plays, five books, some hundred songs, a role in the series L’héritage and several radio programs. He was appointed to the administration of the CALQ in 1983 and decorated with the Ordre de la Pléiade in 2001. JEAN-CLAUDE GERMAIN was also director and editor of the magazine Le Québec littéraire and teacher at the National Theatre School.
