In 2006, MARIANNE FORTIER was cast in the title
role of the film Aurore, directed by
Luc Dionne, a performance that earned her a Genie Award. She followed up with a
lead part in the documentary Raconte-moi and also appeared in some
short films, including Alain Fournier's À mère et marées which won Best
Short Film at the 2008 Fantasia Festival. In 2007, Marianne
took on the lead role of Élise in director Lea Pool's film, Maman est chez le coiffeur for which
she won in the category “Best actress in a Canadian film” at the Vancouver Film
Critics Circle awards and also been nominated in the category “Performance by
an Actress in a Leading Role” at the 2009 Genie Awards. Bilingual : French and English Last update: 10-03-2009
