With at least eighty productions to his credit,
SERGE DENONCOURT occupies the theatre scene in numerous ways. Former
director of the Théâtre du Trident, cofounder and ten-year artistic director of
the Théâtre de l'Opsis and a famous stage director, DENONCOURT has given free rein to his love of
the great classics (Tchekhov, Gorki, Molière) and to his interest for the 20th
century repertoire (Botho Strauss, Steven Berkoff, Bertolt Brecht, Arthur
Miller, Tennessee Williams) and for Quebec's contemporary playwrights (Michel Tremblay,
Michel-Marc Bouchard). A versatile artist, SERGE DENONCOURT also stages operas and variety
shows (Arturo Brachetti), two world tours of the Italien Singer Eros Ramazzotti
and created and directed Gaetano Triggiano's show, an Italian illusionist. In
February 2004, he won the Masque Award for his staging of the play Les Feluettes
presented at the Espace GO. This show was also presented at the prestigious
A.C.T. Theatre, San Francisco,
in 2005. He is the director and co-writer of Cirque du Soleil’s production in Las Vegas entitled Criss
Angel Believe. SERGE DENONCOURT
is an actor as well.
