Actor, stage director, author,
film director and television host RENÉ RICHARD CYR was
Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui's artistic director from 1998 to 2004. Before
that, from 1981 to 1998, he was associate artistic director of Théâtre
PàP (Petit à Petit). In the course of the last twenty-five years, he
has directed more than a hundred creative and classical plays, operas
and shows, among which recitals, galas and televised shows. He has also
directed several television programs. He wrote and staged the Zumanity
show, on stage in Las Vegas since 2003, which is exhibiting another
facet of Cirque du Soleil. His works have owed him several
distinctions, as well as some fifteen prestigious awards.
