A world-renowned set designer, MICHEL CRÊTE     has designed some thirty theatre sets before         joining the Cirque du Soleil team for which he         developed the sets of the shows Alegria,                 Saltimbanco, Mystère, Quidam, "O" and La             Nouba.  Having become an exceptionally close         collaborator to the stage director Franco                 Dragone, he eventually signed the set design of     Céline Dion’s current Las Vegas show and that     of the Wynn Hotel’s permanent show: Le rêve.      In several productions, he pushed back the limits     of his role as a set designer by getting involved         with all participants to create from start to finish     the stages and theatres where the shows were     to take place.  In 1998, he received from the             Entertainment Design Magazine an EDDY Award         for his special collaboration on "O" which pays         tribute to those whose outstanding work have a     major impact on the entertainment industry.  His     designs have owed him numerous awards such         as Prix Gascon-Roux, Gémeaux and Gemini.
