A skilled dramatist and a renowned translator, NORMAND CHAURETTE has written twelve plays, the best known of which are Le Petit Köchel (2000), Stabat Mater I (1999), Le passage de l'Indiana (1996), Les Reines (1991), Fragments d'une lettre d'adieu lus par les géologues (1986) and Provincetown Playhouse, juillet 1919, j'avais 19 ans (1981). He's translated at least ten Shakespeare plays that have been great successes and also turned his hand to Ibsen's and Schiller's works. In addition, he authored a novel, Scènes d'enfants (1989), and a few short stories. His plays, created in Montreal, were staged in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, New York, Paris, Brussels, Florence, Barcelona and Edinburgh.
