Since his graduation from the National Theatre School in 1985, JEAN-FRANÇOIS CARON has written a dozen plays. Several were produced in Quebec, some also in France. Among his works are : Donut (Théâtre Il va sans dire), J’écrirai bientôt une pièce sur les nègres (Théâtre de Quat’Sous), Le scalpel du diable (La Licorne), Aux hommes de bonne volonté (Théâtre de Quat’Sous, Sirocco Théâtre, France, revived in Paris), Saganash (Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui and Théâtre du Binôme, France) and La Nature même du continent (Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui). He participated to the writing of Huit Péchés capitaux and of Cabaret Neiges noires and to editions of Contes urbains. He’s been writing scripts for television (for Graffiti, Tohu-Bohu and Watatatow, among others). He also teaches drama writing at the National Theatre School and screenwriting at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.
