For many years, MARIE BRASSARD's career was closely
linked to that of Robert Lepage. Under his direction, she created and
played in many productions, on stage as well as on film. Let's mention,
among others: La Trilogie des Dragons, le Polygraphe, Les sept branches
de la Rivière Ota and La géométrie
des miracles. In June 2001, she created her first one-woman show,
Jimmy créature de rêve, a black surrealistic
comedy which was a huge success and has, since then, been presented in
many cities in Europe, America and Australia. That same year, she founded
the production company Infrarouge. She's also its artistic director. In
2003, she created a show hinging on the themes of real estate development,
exploitation and friendship; entitled La Noirceur, it was
followed by Peepshow, staged in English in Toronto in May
2005, and in French in Montréal in June of that year. That show
was also presented in many cities in Europe and Australia. Brassard is
currently developing a project in Berlin. It will be staged there in the
fall of 2007.
