Trained as a scriptwriter, STÉPHANE BOURGUIGNON
has been creating comedies for 12 years. From 1991 to 1993 he also taught
at the Montreal-based national comedy academy, l'École nationale
de l'humour. His three novels, L'avaleur de sable, Le Principe du
geyser and Un peu de fatigue were hits with critics
and public alike. Not only did the revolutionary La Vie,
la vie announce Stéphane's debut as a television
series writer, but it also marked a radical departure from the traditional
style of Quebec TV series. The show achieved cult status and earned him
two Gémeaux awards. All 39 episodes were purchased by networks
in France, Belgium and Switzerland. Stéphane based his next
series, Tout sur moi, on real life characters and events.
The first season was shown on Radio-Canada in 2006 and the second was
aired in 2007-2008. The third one will be shown in 2009. His most recent
novel, Sonde ton coeur, Laurie Rivers, hit
the bookstands in February 2007.
