MICHEL MARC BOUCHARD wrote more than 25 plays which
have all been staged. His works, translated in many languages, are regularly
performed around the world, notably in Japan and Italy. Various stagings
of his works received many awards [the Mavor Moore Award, Chalmer's Award,
National Arts Center Award, Betty Mitchell Award, Prix du Journal de Montréal,
Critric Associations Awards from many countries, Primo Candoni (Italy)
and lot of nominations for the Genies, Jutra, Juno, Soirée des
Masques et GG Awards] especially LES FELUETTES, L'HISTOIRE DE
L'OIE and LES MUSES ORPHELINES. He recently received
the Laurentian Bank Award for his last play DES YEUX DE VERRE.
Grant holder of the Canada Council for the arts, the Ontario Arts Council,
Québec's department of culture and Fondation Beaumarchais (Paris),
he was appointed writer in residence at the Théâtre de Quat'Sous
and at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (Montréal), at
the New Dramatist in New-York, at the Banff Center for the Arts (Alberta),
at the Festival de Limoges (France), at the University of Ottawa and at
the Teatro della Limonaia (Florence). The movie (LES FELUETTES-LILIES)
and television adaptations of his plays (L'HISTOIRE DE L'OIE/THE
TALE OF TEEKA) owed him numerous awards and the praise of many.
He is Officer of the Order of Canada.
