Pierre-Yves Bernard has been writing for television, film and the theatre for more than 15 years. After completing a master's degree in sociology in 1988, Bernard branched off towards a more creative type of writing. From then on, he has contributed to several series, including Le Club des 100 watts, Un gars, une fille and Km/heure. In 1997, Bernard and his friend Claude Legault developed the program Dans une galaxie près de chez vous, which has grown to become a true cult series and brought the two comrades to the creation in 2004 of Dans une galaxie près de chez vous - le film! (movie version of the series) - a huge success. Bernard's scriptwriting came to its full maturity with the three seasons of Minuit, le soir, which, in 2006 and 2007, scooped seventeen Gémeaux awards (among which those of best script and best drama series). The serie will also be seen in France (France 2) from spring 2008. Bernard also teaches screenwriting at INIS (national institute of image and sound).
