She has translated from French to English some 150 novels of Quebec writers, including: Lise Bissonnette, Marie-Claire Blais, Roch Carrier, Christiane Frenette, Francois Gravel, Anne Hebert, Helen beautiful, Major Andre, Jacques Poulin, Monique Proulx Gaetan Soucy, Larry Tremblay, Michel Tremblay, Elise Turcotte.

Prizes

Winner in 1974 and 1984 of the Translation Award of the Arts Council of Canada; finalist, Governor General's Award for French-to-English Translation (1990 to 1996, 1998, from 2000 to 2002, 2010), winner of the "Felix-Antoine Savard Translation Prize "(awarded by the Translation Center, Columbia University, New York), 1989, 1990, winner of international prize" INNY " for translation, 1998; winner, Governor General's Literary Award for French-to-English Translation, 1998 (for Bambi and me, translation of Les vues animées by Michel Tremblay), 2008 recipient of the Molson Prize in the Arts.
