In the 1970s, he began to share his passion for French-Canadian theatre with English Canada, through his translations of Quebec plays, especially those of Michel Tremblay, that he translated, in collaboration with Bill Glassco, up until 1996. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Toronto Drama Bench Award for Distinguished Contribution to Canadian Theatre, and most recently the prestigious Silver Ticket Award from the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts.
